An Ann Update...

I managed to finish one of the larger urn motifs on the "Ann Dickinson - 1819" sampler. I've been suffering from some ADD...
when I'm doing needle punch,
I want to be cross stitching,
and when I'm cross stitching,
I want to be punching...
& then when I'm punching,
I want to be sketching that idea that just popped into my head.
Anyone else suffer this stitching disorder? Maybe all of us who suffer from this disorder need to unite! I think I need a support group...what could we call our group??
Anyhoo, I am to a fun part of the "Ann" sampler...a row of one pretty little flower urn after another. And then its onto the bottom band of the sampler...my favorite part of the piece!

The count down is on! Don't forget American Idol starts tomorrow night! Remember ladies, don't forget to hide the remote tomorrow night from the dh. Maybe your household isn't like ours...BUT the dh seems to think that it is his "manly duty of the house" to be in charge of the remote...at all times! If I don't hide it, he walks into the room, picks it up and changes the channel. And then after I spew out a few choice words, he nonchalantly asks, "Oh, were you watching that?" Ugghhhh.......no, I'm just sitting here, facing the TV, with my eyes fixated on it for shits & giggles...my usual come-back comment. (Please pardon my French). So, I am very much looking forward to stitching and watching Idol once again...a perfect combo! I am sad that Simon won't be there. I was always in a love/hate relationship with that guy, but darnit it just isn't going to be the same without him...

We are in for a string of very cold days here in NW Iowa...hoping you are all staying warm wherever you are at. We had a heat wave yesterday (33 degrees)...am thinking that was probably our January thaw...and only 1 day long!
Stay warm,
Brenda

It looks so lovely. I can't wait to see the finished sampler. I have always loved samplers and I have quite a few that I have stitched. Keep up the beautiful work.

Enjoy your stitching time - I bet the remote would fit in your stitching basket - He would never look in there - lol

"Ann" is looking lovely! Thanks for the giggle today ~ I thought I was the only one that sat staring at the tv, but not really watching (according to my husband) ~ so glad to know that I am not alone :)

Blessings, Patti

I thought I had some kind of mental sickness because I go from rug hooking to needle punch to cross stitching and of course trying new patterns. I can't seem to stay at any project except by making myself work at it. Do you mean the remote control can be used by me? Haha. That is new thought and so funny, I might try it one night. I love your Ann work it is just beautiful. Stay cool in that heatwave.:)

must be a guy thing as all the men in my house are guilty of commandeering the remote. As for the ADD Ihave the same problem, there are so many things I want to do and try and there simply aren't enough hours in the day to get to them all!

Brenda,

I am loving this sampler and the colors that are in it. It is beautiful.

We solved the remote problem by installing a new TV in the kitchen where I spend most of my time in my cozy chair by the fire! My show on Tuesday nights is the Biggest Loser, and nothing happening would make me miss 'my' show:-)

Keep the pictures coming, I look forward to seeing them.

Wooly hugs,
Trudy

I just love your humor!! I don't know what men think when it comes to the remote, but I think they're all alike.
Your sampler is just beautiful and I can't wait to see it finished.
Have fun stitching and once again, thanks for the smile on this cold winter day.

I solve the TV problem by staying in the other room at times with my own remote!
As for the disorder...we should band together...a name...oh I don't know...I feel like an un-finished basket sometimes....holding so much, but can't hold enough.....

So show me where to sign up---I have my hands on one project and my mind on three others, not counting the four or five I'd like to start but CAN'T because I've pledged to FINISH! What a glorious state!

Your stitching is lovely.
How about "unraveled thoughts" for a title for the group?

OMG - my husband does the exact same thing and my response is pretty much the same as yours - including the "French!" I miss Simon too but I thought Steven Tyler was a hoot!
