So one day...

this hat shows up in the mail.

A buffalo plaid hat, lined with fur from some poor critter...I don't even want to think, know or go there. This hat is equipped with tiny little flaps on the sides to snap up or to leave open...exposing 2 cute little "metal-ish" air vents. I mean this is one special hat folks.

I call him Walter when he wears it...
(as in Walter Matthau...Grumpier Old Men)

Not that he looks like him or anything.
I'm just sayin...

Oh, and honey if you should happen upon this blog today, "THANK YOU" for my new camera lens...the zoom on it is awesome! Why not only can I photograph birds, but Holy Moly I can even stand up in the landing of the hallway on the second story, open the window, hang my body halfway out the window on a subzero day and take a picture of you in your cute little "Walter Hat"... Oh, and one more thing...don't even THINK about putting a stinky dead fish in my car...
Thanks honey, I love you!
Brenda

Omigosh, Brenda! I am in fits of giggles reading your blog entry today! I love, love the Grumpy Old Men movies, so I totally get the connection. You have a gift of writing the whole thing out for us, too! Here's hoping no dead fish end up in your car!

Well, no matter how Walter-ish it looks, seems just the thing for the chore he's tackling!

I did a double take when I saw your picture. I'm rereading Catcher in the Rye and the main character has a hat that I envision very much like this. Your description of getting the picture had me smiling. I think the "Walter" look is perfect for the weather.

I call my husband "Elmer Fudd" when he wears his hat that's just like your husbands.
Go ahead...you can use that one too!

Ha! Funny. My husband has a hat similar to this somewhere around here. He use to wear it when the girls were teenagers and they would be so embarrassed when they had friends over. I am not sure what has happened to that hat because I know it kept him warm. I love the Walter reference. I'll have to remember that if hubs hat ever surfaces again.

I had to laugh! We SELL tons of these hats at my work! Can't keep them in stock! I guess they must work pretty well, but I'd prefer the ones without the fur.
He looks like a lumberjack!
Have a good weekend!
